Students and mentors came together for the RCEL Mentorship Program Kick-Off on September 26 in Duncan Hall on the Rice Campus.
Students and mentors came to learn more about the program, and to meet each other face-to-face, many for the first time. RCEL Executive Director Kaz Karwoski welcomed the group, followed by a short introduction by Constantine Tzouanas (junior, BIOE) and Rachel Nguyen (junior, ECE), the RCEL Mentorship Student Committee, of the expectations of the program, as well as advice and suggestions for mentor/mentee pairs.
The majority of the evening was left to conversation and getting to know eachother, in mentor/mentee pairs and small groups. Several students and mentors whose mentors were unable to attend, still came to meet the other mentors and practice networking skills.
