How to Build Your Graduate Experience towards an UNCONVENTIONALLY Successful Engineering Career
Three distinguished panelists will speak from R&D experience:

“Developing Engineering Leaders: Effectiveness in the First Five,” will be hosted at Rice University and organized by the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL), and will consist of interactive educational workshops, plenaries, networking exercises, and motivational reflections from distinguished engineers who are positively impacting the world today.

Since more than 2/3 of Engineering undergrads do research before they graduate, there are some good posters and potential posters out there that should be in the symposium. Participating gives you good practice in explaining to others what it is you are doing in research — particularly valuable if you’re planning on attending grad school!

Join other students and corporate representatives in a networking reception where you might just make the connection for a great internship for next summer!

RCEL hosts the School of Engineering’s annual Freshmen Orientation LIFTOFF special event. Test your skills in team-based design challenge, meet fellow students and faculty, have some great food, and potentially win a fabulous door prize!

NSF GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program)

An elite, hands-on experience, the course offers a chance to develop leadership skills through rigorous team-building, reflection, and more. Students work together in teams to overcome challenging obstacle activities and receive direct feedback on their performance.

Each summer, KPCB sponsors fellows to work in Silicon Valley startups that have its venture capital support. Engineering fellows intern in companies like Square, Spotify, Flipboard and many more.
